This PGCE Secondary Modern Foreign Languages program leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), enabling you to teach students aged 11-18 in secondary schools across England and Wales.
The course has consistently received outstanding evaluations in both internal and external assessments, recognized nationally as a top-tier modern foreign language teacher training program.
While specializing in one primary language (French, German, or Spanish), we actively promote developing teaching skills in at least one additional language to beginner level.
Our teaching team comprises a diverse group of highly experienced academics with extensive school experience and international recognition in modern language education. Their research contributes to the DfE National Centre for Language Pedagogy Excellence and informs the internationally respected Professional Development Consortium in MFL, which shapes our curriculum. We maintain strong partnerships with the Association for Language Learning and work with leading practitioners like The Language Gym. Much of the course material comes from publications authored by our own tutors.
