Our Integrated Foundation Year readies you for the MOptom (Hons) Optometry undergraduate program. Delivered by university faculty on campus, you'll be fully integrated into university life from the start. This pathway is ideal if your existing qualifications don't meet direct degree entry requirements. Successful completion typically leads to progression into Year 1 of the MOptom (Hons) Optometry program.
Optometrists specialize in diagnosing vision deficiencies, detecting injuries, abnormalities, and eye diseases through comprehensive examinations. They play a vital role in identifying general health concerns and assisting individuals with visual impairments.
Through eye assessments, they evaluate ocular health and prescribe corrective lenses, contacts, or visual aids when needed. Optometrists provide clinical guidance for managing various eye conditions and collaborate closely with other eye care specialists like ophthalmologists and orthoptists. They serve as crucial liaisons, referring patients to additional healthcare providers when specialized treatment becomes necessary.
