Optometry is a medical field focused on assessing, diagnosing, and managing the human visual system.
With an aging society, the need for vision care services is projected to grow, positioning optometrists perfectly to address this rising demand.
The curriculum combines core scientific principles with comprehensive clinical training, prioritizing patient-centered optometric care. Students gain hands-on experience by treating patients in the University's eye clinic and receiving specialized instruction from senior ophthalmologists at nearby hospitals. This three-year degree prepares graduates for optometry registration, though an additional pre-registration training year is required before full practice.

Applied Science. DDD. Only accepted if combined with a pure Science A level minimum grade B.

Plus HL 3 or SL 4 in Maths and English Language and Literature A or English B.
Five GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 to include English Language, Maths (note: GCSE English Language and Mathematics equivalences will not be accepted) and at least one of the following: Double Award Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
