Our BA (Hons) Geography program examines how human activities affect societies, movement patterns, and environmental management. Each geography course equips students with expertise to address critical worldwide issues concerning our planet and its inhabitants, incorporating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into our curriculum.
You'll be taught by knowledgeable, approachable faculty who are active researchers in their disciplines. The program focuses on practical skills and professional growth, including an optional work placement year. Plymouth offers the perfect location with its dynamic city life and stunning countryside and coastal scenery nearby. All programs hold full accreditation from the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).
Geography alumni enjoy excellent career prospects. As the RGS states, "geography opens doors to diverse careers rather than leading to one specific job." Graduates pursue roles in consulting, urban planning, tourism, government agencies, NGOs, and education, while others apply their social and analytical skills in business and financial sectors.
