We celebrate musical creativity in all its forms - from performance and composition to improvisation, as well as the growth of musical communities and networks.
Our doctoral program embraces diverse research topics. Our faculty consists of world-renowned experts in their disciplines. Prospective students should find an appropriate supervisor to refine their research proposals. Typically completed full-time in three years or part-time in six (with an optional additional year for thesis completion and defense).
As a doctoral candidate, you will:
produce a written dissertation of up to 100,000 words, guided by your academic advisors
defend your research orally (viva voce) before an examination committee
Select from various optional courses in coordination with your supervisory team, including music-focused offerings and research methodology modules.
