Projects cover a diverse range of topics, all focused on industrially relevant subject areas. These initiatives span from groundbreaking fundamental research to practical applications aimed at enhancing brewing processes, boosting efficiency and sustainability, or creating innovative products and methods. As part of this degree's research component, you'll be assigned a supervisor with specialized knowledge to guide your project. Comprehensive laboratory training and instruction in relevant techniques will be provided.
Most research projects take place in the specially designed Brewing and Bioenergy Building, featuring two cutting-edge pilot-scale breweries. A video showcasing the building's facilities can be found further down this page.
The department maintains extensive collaborations with university disciplines related to brewing, including plant and crop sciences, food and nutrition sciences, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. These partnerships provide access to specialized resources and knowledge for specific research topics.
