We celebrate musical creativity in all its forms - from performance and composition to improvisation, as well as the growth of musical communities and networks.
Our doctoral program embraces diverse research topics. Our faculty consists of world-renowned experts in their disciplines. Prospective students should find an appropriate supervisor to refine their research proposals. Typically completed in three years full-time or six years part-time (with an optional additional year for thesis completion and examination).
As a doctoral candidate, you will:
produce a written dissertation of maximum 100,000 words, guided by your academic supervisors
defend your research through an oral examination (viva voce) before an expert panel
have access to various optional courses selected in collaboration with your supervisory team, including music-focused modules and research methodology training.
