Our three-year Bachelor of Engineering in Product Design and Manufacture blends creative thinking with technical engineering fundamentals, equipping students with essential skills for design-oriented professions. We live in a world filled with challenges ranging from minor inconveniences to major global issues like climate change. Product Designers merge diverse creative, engineering, and production capabilities to develop market-ready solutions for these real-world problems. The program harnesses cutting-edge technologies - from digital illustration tools to advanced 3D printing, rapid prototyping resources, and VR systems - ensuring graduates are ready for today's product design landscape. Students explore comprehensive modules that build hands-on design abilities and expertise in crucial domains such as production processes, material science, human factors engineering, market analysis, and beyond. Design projects form a core component of the curriculum, addressing needs across multiple industries including healthcare, automotive, packaging, consumer appliances, electronics, and others. These projects encourage practical design approaches, applying learned manufacturing and engineering concepts. You'll create products and components suitable for large-scale production while considering commercial viability.
