Art holds a significant role throughout history, serving as a medium for power, protest, status, and symbolism. Pursuing a degree in art history will beautifully complement your existing enthusiasm for historical studies.

You likely already have preferred historical eras, whether it's the Tudors, civil rights movements, or World War II. This program allows you to deepen your understanding of these subjects while also uncovering new ones, spanning from 500 CE to modern times across global cultures. You'll further develop your research, writing, and analytical discussion skills.

In art history, we'll investigate artistic meaning and its societal impact from the Renaissance onward. The curriculum covers diverse visual arts forms such as:
painting, sculpture, architecture, graphic design, and photography.
