Our PhD/MPhil Epidemiology program allows you to pursue a research project that advances knowledge in Epidemiology. Key research areas focus on autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, neurological/psychiatric conditions, cognitive genetic epidemiology, male reproductive health, and population-level cancer studies. Specifically, our work examines: disease patterns and health behaviors in relation to complex person-environment-time interactions and disparities, genetic/genomic approaches to health research (especially with longitudinal clinical data), molecular epidemiology using 'omics technologies, risk prediction models, and non-molecular factors like occupational/environmental health determinants, development of complex interventions informed by interdisciplinary insights from anthropology, social sciences, health psychology and urban design, innovative methods for capturing behavioral and outcome data through digital/web-based approaches including crowdsourcing, social media analysis, geospatial mapping, and machine learning techniques.

Qualification Requirements

We require applicants to hold, or be about to obtain, an Upper Second class Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in a related subject area for entry to a PhD programme. A Lower Second class Honours degree may be considered if applicants also hold a Master's degree with a Merit classification. We require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall or TOEFL (iBT) 90.
