Our PhD in Music Composition enables you to develop a portfolio of original works accompanied by an analytical commentary, guided by our expert faculty. You'll work with a dedicated research panel comprising your primary supervisor, secondary supervisor, and academic advisor, who will provide regular progress reviews. As part of our postgraduate community, you'll participate in departmental seminars and present your creative research periodically. The department facilitates workshops and performances of student compositions, often featuring collaborations with Psappha (our ensemble-in-residence) and Quatuor Danel (our resident quartet), alongside other professional and student musicians.
