As a PhD candidate in Development Policy and Management, you'll conduct research within the multidisciplinary Rory and Elizabeth Brooks Doctoral College, which operates under the Global Development Institute (GDI). This prestigious doctoral community brings together researchers working toward equitable global development, preparing them for leadership positions across public, private, and civic sectors. The College focuses on:
establishing a strong identity for postgraduate researchers within the broader GDI academic environment,
promoting research that informs policy decisions, practical applications, and public knowledge while encouraging researchers to disseminate their findings,
offering specialized skill development beyond standard doctoral training (including communication, policy advocacy, public outreach, and consultancy work for governments and development organizations),
fostering collaboration between postgraduate researchers and GDI faculty to drive innovation in both research and teaching, while also allowing PhD candidates to support the educational experience of GDI's 450+ master's students,
enabling postgraduate researchers to actively participate in research initiatives across the GDI, the School, and the wider University.
