Our MA Heritage Studies program is designed for students seeking to enhance their expertise and hands-on abilities for careers in heritage policy, management, conservation, education, public engagement, and entrepreneurship. This course explores the principles and applications of heritage creation, stewardship, and utilization across local, national, and global settings. It combines practical conservation and management techniques with an examination of the social, political, and economic factors influencing cultural, archaeological, architectural, and environmental heritage. The curriculum features essential core modules on critical heritage studies alongside specialized topics, allowing you to focus on areas like: digital heritage, curation and public engagement, natural landscapes, historic estates, sustainable development in heritage, international heritage policies, educational approaches, intangible cultural heritage, and strategic project management. Through our established placement program, you'll have opportunities for immersive work experience and reflective practice with heritage institutions both locally and internationally.
