The MA in International Cultural Heritage Management delves into the critical aspects of managing cultural heritage globally and its profound societal impact. You'll gain insights into how heritage preservation fosters identity, promotes diversity, strengthens communities, and facilitates cross-cultural understanding.

The program demonstrates how effective heritage management contributes to education, cultural conservation, migration challenges, and sustainable development, while supporting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Yet heritage management faces numerous obstacles, which this course addresses - including rapid globalization, infrastructure demands, overtourism, environmental threats, neglect, climate impacts, natural catastrophes, and deliberate destruction during conflicts.

Situated within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the university offers unique perspectives on heritage management at local, national, and international levels. The program prepares students for both academic research and professional careers in this field.

We view cultural heritage as a fundamental human right and strive to develop future industry leaders. The program equips students with skills to navigate complex heritage challenges and contribute meaningfully to cultural preservation in our rapidly evolving world.

Students can choose between two pathways: the Cultural Heritage Research track culminating in a dissertation, or the Professional Practice track ending with an in-depth case study analysis.
