The PGCE Secondary School Direct Science: Physics (11-16 or 11-18) equips you with hands-on training and theoretical foundations to excel as a Physics educator. Unlike traditional teacher training routes, this program offers extended school placement opportunities before the PGCE begins, along with a tailored curriculum. You'll specialize in either the 11-16, 11-18, or 14-19 age brackets to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), mastering the National Curriculum and exam-level teaching strategies for GCSE, AS, and A2 levels. The curriculum emphasizes practical teaching skills through substantial classroom experience, including placements in Primary schools and multiple Secondary institutions. Over 25 weeks of the program are dedicated to immersive school placements across various educational settings. This experiential learning is complemented by studying contemporary educational theories, emerging trends, and key concepts. Our partnership with Greater Manchester schools provides diverse School Direct pathways into the teaching profession.
