Investigations in basin analysis and petroleum geosciences concentrate on core examinations of terrestrial surface dynamics and sedimentary basin formations, along with their practical applications in petroleum geology. Numerous team members bring industry expertise from the petroleum geology field and maintain active partnerships with energy companies on diverse research initiatives related to deciphering the structural and depositional development of sedimentary basins, three-dimensional seismic analysis, and reservoir characterization.

Our work emphasizes investigations of mechanisms governing landscape and seascape transformations, seismic and stratigraphic sequencing, tectonic influences on sedimentary basins, both clastic and carbonate depositional systems, and environmental shifts. We've pioneered innovative digital outcrop analysis techniques and their implementation in reservoir simulation.
