Archaeology enables you to investigate human civilization, spanning from prehistoric times through industrialization and globalization, while addressing contemporary societal issues like climate change, technological advancements, gender identities, cultural exchanges, and conflicts. By scientifically examining artifacts, ancient writings, architectural remains, human fossils, and landscapes, our programs focus on understanding past civilizations across regions including Egypt, the Near East, the Mediterranean, Britain, and Northwestern Europe. As a member of the nation's largest Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology, and Egyptology (CAHAE) department, you'll gain unique access to expert knowledge in material culture studies, ancient languages, social structures, writing systems, religious practices, burial customs, and historical sites throughout your academic journey.
