Our diverse research portfolio enables cutting-edge studies in oncology, backed by exceptional clinical investigations across multiple prevalent cancer forms. The focus of our cancer research is to transform scientific breakthroughs into tangible improvements for patients.

Basic science explores the biological pathways of cancer initiation and advancement, seeking to identify key processes that drive tumor formation and may serve as treatment targets. This work is complemented by translational studies leveraging innovative and ongoing cancer trials, integrating conventional treatments with novel strategies while utilizing predictive and prognostic biomarkers.

All scientific inquiry occurs within an ecosystem rich with clinical knowledge and investigative resources, guaranteeing that foundational research maintains patient relevance through guidance from top medical specialists and consideration of critical clinical factors.

Our investigative priorities encompass:

Core studies examining cancer's underlying biological mechanisms to pinpoint disease drivers and potential treatment avenues
Therapeutic trials designed to accelerate treatment innovations into clinical practice or establish guidelines for applying new therapies (aligned with the Cancer Research UK Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre's mission)
Human-based research that elucidates disease pathology and lays the groundwork for enhanced or novel treatment approaches
Applied research utilizing current cancer trials to evaluate innovative therapies, refine existing treatments, and discover new diagnostic and prognostic indicators.
