Our institution offers a welcoming, vibrant, and nurturing setting where students can explore Earth's evolution alongside leading geoscience experts. Instruction is research-driven, with faculty members renowned worldwide for their specialized knowledge. Doctoral candidates undertake self-directed research projects with support from an advisory team. Typically, research concludes within 3.0-3.5 years (full-time) or 6.0-6.5 years (part-time). An additional year (full-time) or seventh year (part-time) - or remaining portion thereof - may be utilized for thesis preparation. The dissertation should generally not surpass 50,000 words, must present novel findings, and include research worthy of publication. Final degree conferral requires successful defense of the thesis during an oral examination.
