Launched in 2012, Lead Partners enables schools to directly enroll students in teacher training programs offered jointly with universities. To ensure diverse placement options, schools collaborate through Teaching Alliances.
This program combines university-based instruction - covering fundamental teaching methodologies - with practical school placements where you'll implement your learning across various classroom settings. Placements occur in different school environments (urban, suburban, or rural; state or independent) to provide comprehensive experience.
The Lead Partners PGCE Primary program trains you to teach all primary subjects. You'll explore broader educational contexts like diversity inclusion and special needs education, while developing essential classroom management and lesson planning skills.
Upon completion, you'll meet Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) requirements and earn a University of Leicester PGCE. Our emphasis on reflective practice thoroughly prepares you for a teaching career.
This Primary PGCE is delivered in collaboration with multiple Lead Partners schools. Applicants select their preferred Lead Partners Provider and apply via UCAS.
