Our Archaeology BA program deepens your insight into ancient civilizations by examining the artifacts and written records they've left behind. The curriculum spans from humanity's earliest stone tools 3.3 million years ago to modern times. At Leicester, renowned for the Richard III discovery, you'll learn directly from researchers behind groundbreaking finds. Hands-on learning is fundamental - you'll join digs and master fieldwork methods that build your ability to analyze discoveries. Through second and third-year placements with heritage groups, schools, and our archaeological unit, plus our certified internship program, you'll gain professional experience. The program offers broad subject coverage, with faculty specialists in Roman archaeology, prehistory, historical archaeology, heritage studies, archaeological theory, scientific archaeology, and Classical history.
