This combined history and archaeology program provides extensive practical learning opportunities. Students participate in a minimum of three weeks of field research, either domestically or internationally. The curriculum covers diverse historical eras, spanning from humanity's earliest origins to modern events like the Cold War and 17th-century witch hunts. Archaeology examines past civilizations through material evidence such as structures, artifacts, and geographical features, while history analyzes documented accounts and oral traditions. This interdisciplinary course delivers comprehensive expertise in both fields, enhancing students' comprehension of ancient cultures. Participants will master techniques for interpreting historical documents and develop excavation skills to maximize information recovery from archaeological sites and materials.
