A PhD represents the highest globally-acknowledged research credential. Pursuing doctoral studies enables you to develop deep expertise in your selected field while acquiring advanced research skills for future academic projects. As a PhD candidate, you'll join the School's vibrant research community as an integral member. Your doctoral journey involves conducting novel research under dual supervision, culminating in an original dissertation of roughly 100,000 words. Initially, you'll register as a provisional PhD student for twelve months (or eighteen months part-time), during which you'll formulate a comprehensive research plan and complete a literature review. These preliminary works undergo evaluation by an examination panel, who offer constructive feedback and guidance for your ongoing research development.
