The Infant Feeding team is one of three research groups within our Human Appetite Research Unit (HARU) at the University of Leeds. This team investigates the psychological mechanisms behind various elements of infant feeding, such as hunger signals, appetite regulation, food preferences, and feelings of fullness. Key research areas include: Pinpointing genetic and environmental contributors to childhood obesity, Analyzing hunger and fullness indicators in infants, Decoding infant communication via facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, and body language, Exploring how preschoolers develop food preferences, Implementing hands-on learning to improve vegetable acceptance in young children, Studying the impact of portion sizes on children in preschool and elementary school.
