The School of Nursing & Healthcare fosters a dynamic community of postgraduate researchers, including both UK-based and international students. Students can pursue either a PhD or MSc through Research programs.
Our research candidates represent diverse clinical specialties, with particular emphasis on nursing and physiotherapy fields. Their projects focus on two primary research areas: Palliative/End-of-Life Care and Self-Management Support. We actively encourage students to share their findings through conference presentations, academic papers, and relevant professional gatherings. Our support system includes collaborative workspaces, writing workshops, social activities, and structured academic initiatives. Applications are accepted year-round, with two annual enrollment periods in January and October.
As part of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences Graduate School, we offer an engaging, nurturing academic environment for all research students. Each candidate receives comprehensive support through dedicated program coordinators, experienced supervisors, and personalized pastoral care.
