The School of Health Sciences (SHS) is dedicated to improving lives through practical health research, fostering a dynamic academic environment both within our school and across the university.
Our research efforts are spearheaded by the Mother and Infant Research Unit, the People, Health and Communities initiative, and the Scottish Improvement Science Collaborating Centre (SISCC), which operates under our School. We encourage research proposals aligned with these growing focus areas, particularly in public health, rehabilitation, geriatric care, maternal and child wellness, health promotion, quality improvement, mental wellbeing, and digital health innovations.
Our methodological strengths encompass comprehensive literature reviews, data synthesis and integration techniques, alongside diverse health research approaches spanning social and behavioral studies, human-computer interaction, and design thinking.
We maintain an established reputation for research excellence both nationally and in specialized fields like midwifery and allied health. Our team also brings substantial experience in applied health sciences and education-related research.
