The School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences coordinate their Postgraduate Research Education through the Institute of Nursing and Health Research. Recognized both nationally and globally, the Institute offers exceptional research training tailored to nursing and healthcare practices. Ulster University's Nursing program ranks among the UK's top-tier institutions, placing within the top 5 for world-leading research (4*) in originality, significance, and rigor. According to the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), our research environment achieved 100% world-leading status (4*), with 83% of our publications and 95% of our research impact rated as world-leading or internationally excellent (3* and 4*).
