Our doctoral program enables you to specialize in a focused field while receiving comprehensive research training. You'll work closely with dedicated supervisors, meeting regularly throughout your studies. The Health, Medicine and Society research group explores health, illness, and medical practices within their social and historical contexts. Our scholars investigate diverse periods from the 14th century onward, spanning multiple regions including Mediterranean Europe, East Africa, and South Asia. We concentrate on the socio-cultural dimensions of medicine and health, examining human experiences across the entire lifespan.
