Pursuing a research degree in the Faculty of Biological Sciences allows you to acquire and refine skills as an autonomous investigator in your selected discipline. Guided by your principal supervisor and additional co-supervisors, you'll have the opportunity to conduct pioneering research on specific biological challenges while joining an extensive research network that employs interdisciplinary methods to address contemporary scientific inquiries. Our ecological and evolutionary studies span from theoretical foundations to practical applications, examining phenomena from molecular to planetary scales across all Earth's ecosystems. Key areas of excellence encompass biodiversity studies, evolutionary and developmental biology, host-pathogen relationships, invasive species, pollination ecology, landscape conservation, and environmental management. Our work significantly influences both national and international policies concerning environmental transformation and worldwide sustainability efforts.
