Our environmental science research adopts an interdisciplinary methodology. Students can focus their studies on applied and environmental biology disciplines.
We welcome applications for MPhil or PhD projects in environmental sciences, particularly in applied and environmental biology specializations.

Our investigations examine commercially and environmentally significant organisms and processes. We employ experimental techniques spanning: genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and physiology
Our studies reveal fundamental molecular and physiological mechanisms influencing animal behavior and biological functions.
Motivated by the need to innovate biological solutions for health, nutrition, energy, and water challenges, our work has practical applications. This applied focus has spawned successful ventures like Geneius, creating graduate employment and boosting regional economic growth. The commercial outcomes of our research include discovering natural compounds, developing new antimicrobials and biopesticides, and implementing sustainable approaches to minimize food waste.
