At its core, chemistry represents the science of converting molecules from one form to another. Our research team expands upon the groundbreaking work of 20th century physicists and chemists, focusing on comprehending, simulating, and directing atomic and molecular movement during chemical reactions. Our laboratory employs cutting-edge techniques such as terahertz spectroscopy for observing group molecular dynamics in condensed matter, alongside velocity map imaging and femtosecond spectroscopy. These methods allow us to examine chemical processes involving few atoms with both quantum state precision and time resolution matching the intrinsic timescale of bond dissociation.
