At Lancaster, our Physical and Analytical Chemistry (PAC) research focuses on characterizing and measuring atoms, molecules, solids, materials, and biological systems. The PAC research group brings together experts with diverse yet complementary backgrounds in measurement science. A core specialty is applying solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) techniques to both materials and biological systems. We additionally excel in broader measurement science, including electrochemical methods, photovoltaic materials research, and light harvesting studies.

Our research capabilities are growing significantly. Through Chemistry at Lancaster's extensive building renovation initiative, we now have more custom-built labs and advanced research instruments. We conduct our work through collaborations with numerous academic and industrial partners.
