Our cell biology investigations seek to uncover the cellular and molecular processes that govern healthy cell operations and their malfunctions in disease. Specifically, we explore the architecture and roles of cellular elements like membranes, organelles, and the cytoskeleton, along with mechanisms such as protein folding, degradation pathways, stress responses, gene regulation, and protein transport in both normal and pathological states. These investigations employ diverse models, from cultured mammalian cells to plants, nematodes, and fruit flies, utilizing methodologies spanning molecular biology, functional genomics, and cutting-edge imaging technologies like Confocal Microscopy, Super-resolution Microscopy, and Cryo-Electron Microscopy.
