The contraction process in cardiac and skeletal muscles relies on the precise organization and interaction of excitation-contraction components and their regulatory signaling pathways. Our investigations utilize various imaging and biochemical techniques to examine the molecular mechanisms behind striated muscle contraction, particularly concentrating on calcium-regulating proteins. We ultimately apply multi-scale computational modeling to connect super-resolution imaging findings with cellular and organ-level activity, analyzing how protein expression and spatial distribution influence healthy and impaired heart function.
