An MSc or MA by Research offers a self-directed approach to learning, where your evaluation and degree are based on research contributions. Pursuing an MA or MSc by Research provides a stimulating chance to enhance your analytical abilities and deepen your scholarly focus in a specific area. This research-based Master's program spans 12 months (or 24 months part-time), differing from traditional taught courses by centering on designing, executing, and documenting a research initiative. You'll receive guidance from two faculty supervisors and have opportunities to publish your findings upon completion.
Our research explores significant atmospheric phenomena that shape weather and climate patterns. Key areas of expertise include: Mountain and hill meteorology across global regions, Characteristics of the atmospheric boundary layer over land and sea surfaces, Development and impacts of convective clouds, particularly cumulonimbus formations and thunderstorms, Physical properties and climate effects of stratocumulus and cirrus cloud systems, Mid-latitude cyclones, frontal systems, and associated precipitation and wind patterns, Tropical weather dynamics with emphasis on African climate systems, Computational simulations of weather and climate processes.
