An MSc or MA by Research offers a self-directed approach to learning, where your evaluation and degree are based on research work. Pursuing an MA or MSc by Research provides a stimulating chance to enhance your analytical abilities and deepen your scholarly focus in a specific area. This research-based Master's program spans 12 months (or 24 months part-time), differing from traditional taught Master's courses by focusing on designing, executing, and documenting a research initiative. You'll receive guidance from two faculty supervisors and have the opportunity to publish your findings upon completion.
Our research explores key factors shaping weather and climate patterns. Key areas of expertise include: Mountain and hill meteorology across global regions, Characteristics of the atmospheric boundary layer over land and sea, The development of convective clouds, especially cumulonimbus formations and thunderstorms, The dynamics, microphysics, and climate impacts of stratocumulus and cirrus cloud systems, Mid-latitude cyclones, frontal systems, precipitation patterns, wind behavior, and atmospheric dynamics, Tropical weather phenomena with emphasis on African climate systems, Computational simulations of weather and climate processes.
