Our Foundation Entry program in History helps you develop into a proficient historian, exploring both British and global history across diverse periods—from early modern times to the contemporary era. Foundation Entry courses are perfect if you possess the aptitude for degree-level study but lack the formal qualifications needed for direct entry into an honors program. This pathway serves as an excellent bridge to a complete degree. You'll examine history from multiple perspectives, with coursework covering cultural, economic, social, gender, international, and political history. As you refine your skills in evidence analysis, critical questioning, and argumentation, you'll grow into a true historian. A History Foundation Entry can pave the way for careers in business management, civil service, education, or roles in museums, libraries, and archives. Alumni have pursued advanced studies or entered fields like teaching, research, museum curation, journalism, public relations, government, the EU, and nonprofit organizations.
