Kent's postgraduate journalism programs provide a unique environment where cutting-edge multimedia journalism practice meets scholarly expertise in media history, ethics, and industry trends. The MA International Multimedia Journalism equips international graduates with professional skills for careers in their home countries' news sectors. Unlike our other MA programs, this course doesn't carry NCTJ accreditation since the standard diploma concentrates on UK-specific media law and government structures.
Students develop versatile reporting abilities for print, digital, radio, and television platforms in advanced newsroom facilities, gaining globally recognized skills. The program offers the distinctive advantage of being based at the sole UK university sharing premises with a professional TV broadcaster, KMTV. Instruction comes from decorated journalists with hands-on experience across local, national, and international news environments.

Qualification Requirements
A second class honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent in a relevant academic subject (eg, politics, history, English, international relations) and demonstrable interest in and aptitude for journalism. Suitably qualified applicants will be invited for interview. In certain circumstances, the Centre will consider candidates who have not followed a conventional education path. These cases are assessed individually by the Head of Centre and/or the Director of Learning and Teaching and the Director of Research. Applicants should also hold an IELTS qualification with an overall score of 7.0 with 6.5 in reading, 6.5 in listening, 6.5 in speaking and 7.0 in writing.
