The MA in International Journalism is a professional graduate program combining hands-on training with academic study, featuring fieldwork, workshops, studio sessions, and the choice between a final practical project or thesis. The coursework aligns with the degree's academic rigor.
You'll acquire expertise across print, broadcast, and digital journalism while examining their global applications. Our curriculum allows you to analyze diverse news formats while cultivating a UK-centric view of international journalism. Beyond mastering various media formats, you'll engage with journalistic theory, critically evaluate your work, and investigate modern journalism's worldwide landscape. Collaborating with peers from the UK, Europe, and worldwide—plus our prime location in London, a media capital—enhances your learning. This program serves both aspiring journalists and professionals seeking advancement, welcoming both qualified applicants without journalism background and, in special cases, experienced journalists lacking formal qualifications. Most alumni pursue careers in the field, though some continue their academic journey.
We strongly advise journalism students to seek practical experience during their studies. Industry exposure is vital for career development, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge and build professional networks.
