Become part of the expanding research community in Journalism Studies at Sussex, where you'll investigate journalism's methods, influence, and political dimensions across diverse settings. You'll receive mentorship from seasoned faculty members who will support you through your research journey. We especially encourage proposals focusing on: political communications, investigative reporting, military journalism, intelligence reporting, news journalism, and media's role in protests. Cross-disciplinary supervision is available when suitable. Pursue either a PhD or MPhil degree - the PhD requires significant original contributions to your field, while the MPhil involves independent research at a more introductory level, culminating in a Master of Philosophy qualification. Note that transitioning from MPhil to PhD during your studies may be possible.
