A Doctor of Philosophy represents the pinnacle of academic achievement. This program enables you to investigate and undertake a research initiative centered around a significant inquiry, resulting in novel contributions to your field.
Full-time PhD studies typically span three years (often extending to a fourth year for thesis completion). Throughout this period, you'll enhance your research capabilities through specialized training, academic events, and seminars. Your work will be guided by a primary supervisor along with one or more secondary supervisors, providing comprehensive support throughout your research journey while allowing considerable autonomy in your investigations.
The doctoral program concludes with the submission of an extensive written dissertation. While the standard length is approximately 80,000 words, projects incorporating live performance or video documentation may require around 40,000 words.
Your completed thesis will undergo rigorous evaluation by a panel of field specialists. Upon successful defense, you'll receive your doctoral degree, signifying your readiness to conduct independent scholarly research.
