This advanced year will enhance the foundational skills and knowledge gained from your previous studies, including interpreting and working with numerical data, as well as conducting responsible, safe, and ethical field or laboratory research on living systems. You should understand cellular structures and functions in both unicellular and multicellular organisms, including membrane dynamics and cellular differentiation.
Additionally, you'll develop skills to articulate biological processes in chemical terminology, comprehend the chemistry and architecture of key biological macromolecules, and explain how these determine their biological roles. You'll also explore cellular metabolism, covering major anabolic and catabolic pathways, while examining protein structures, functions, and their regulatory mechanisms.
