Exploring history helps us understand our place in society by revealing the links between past events, influential figures, and ideas that shaped our world. At Huddersfield, this History program features no exams but offers practical experience through second-year work placements, either part-time or as an intensive five-week block. You can further enhance your career prospects with an optional year-long UK or international placement after year two.
The course also encourages creativity, allowing you to develop marketing concepts for historical films or curate museum exhibitions. You'll have access to cutting-edge resources like the acclaimed Heritage Quay archive and Holocaust Centre North.
Additionally, you can participate in the student History Society, arranging educational trips, discussions, and networking events to complement your academic journey before launching your career. You'll examine diverse historical perspectives and interact with primary sources through engaging, modern methods.
