Social work is a diverse and fulfilling profession focused on helping people. It provides opportunities to assist children, adolescents, and adults, including families, care leavers, seniors, and individuals facing mental health challenges, learning disabilities, or physical impairments. Social workers collaborate in multidisciplinary settings with professionals from various sectors like housing services, law enforcement, and healthcare teams to strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

Our MA Social Work program emphasizes developing professional judgment and fostering relationships—both with those you serve and with fellow professionals. Our dedicated faculty will help you master social work theories, legal frameworks, policies, ethics, and practical interventions to inform your professional choices. The curriculum addresses critical topics including social injustice, demographic shifts, inequality, protection measures, and identifying abuse, neglect, and exploitation. You'll cultivate essential skills and values such as professional curiosity, communication abilities, leadership, research, teamwork, self-care, and effective workload management.

We aim to equip you to become a skilled, compassionate, and ethical social worker. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions while prioritizing people's needs and amplifying their voices in decision-making. You'll uphold professional standards while empowering individuals to enhance their well-being and independence through positive change.
