You'll address current societal problems and collaborate with various institutions, such as Gloucestershire Police, Restorative Gloucestershire, and specialized nonprofits focused on domestic violence, sexual assault, and victim services. This unique opportunity allows you to develop practical criminology skills while creating meaningful change.Learning formatThe program runs two days weekly (currently Tuesday and Wednesday) for intensive study. You'll learn through interactive seminars, practical workshops, expert lectures, and self-directed research projects. Our diverse assessment methods include written assignments, project portfolios, visual presentations, and a culminating thesis that highlights your specialized interests.Professional pathwaysYou'll gain hands-on experience through collaborative projects with our partner organizations. We maintain strong connections with law enforcement agencies, the Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner's Office, Restorative Gloucestershire, community safety initiatives like Gloucester City Safe, and local nonprofit organizations.Students can participate in our specialized research teams focusing on homicide studies, sexual violence research, or prison system analysis. These groups facilitate collaboration between students and faculty, skill development, professional networking, and opportunities to influence current policies and procedures.Our alumni have pursued rewarding careers in law enforcement, probation services, correctional facilities, nonprofit sectors, government agencies, and private enterprises. With individualized academic support and extensive resources, you'll be prepared to establish yourself in the criminology and criminal justice field.
You should hold at least a 2.2 Bachelors Honours degree in a related subject. We will also consider social sciences degrees such as psychology, sociology, international relations, security studies and politics. IELTS 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any component. TOEFL: Reading - 20; Writing -19; Listening - 19 Speaking - 22; Total - 80.
