Our research focuses on three key areas: Isotope Geosciences, Isotope Biochemistry & Radiometrics, and Environmental Chemistry & Radiocarbon.
The Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC) houses cutting-edge analytical technology to tackle significant challenges in environmental, earth, and life sciences. Students receive specialized training in analytical science and gain hands-on experience with our extensive equipment and technical resources.
Our team includes around 40 academic staff, research assistants, fellows, and postgraduate students engaged in RCUK, EU, and industry-funded projects. We manage several NERC national facilities and maintain strong collaborations with the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, while also welcoming international researchers.
