The Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI) serves as an ESRC-recognized center of excellence and participates in the Wales Graduate School for Social Sciences (WGSSS). Many of our postgraduate students receive partial funding from external partners addressing critical societal and environmental issues, such as sustainable agriculture transitions, environmental policy, rural community vitality, and climate change mitigation through nature-based approaches.Our graduate researchers deliver impactful work bridging policy and real-world applications. Building on our rural studies expertise, CCRI also offers specialized knowledge in urban and peri-urban development related to food systems, economic revitalization, and business growth.We encourage applications from those aiming to create meaningful impact through partnerships with public, private, or civil society organizations.
