Our research focuses on three key areas: climate, ocean and atmospheric dynamics; sustainable resource management; and geosciences with natural hazard studies. Our work has significant global impact, as evidenced by the Times Higher Education REF2014 analysis that placed us top in the UK for research influence, with 88% of our studies deemed world-leading or internationally excellent. The QS World University Rankings 2019 further highlights our excellence, ranking us first globally for citations in Marine and Earth Sciences, third for Geography, and fourth for Environmental Sciences. UEA stands unmatched in its contributions to the IPCC's climate change assessments. We support our research with state-of-the-art, well-resourced facilities, including new additions like a sea glider system and an air-sea-ice simulation chamber, offering exceptional opportunities for research projects. Various funding options exist across schools (subject to eligibility), with UEA providing ISF scholarships covering up to 50% of tuition fees for outstanding international (non-EU) candidates annually, awarded based on academic excellence.
