This AfN-accredited Human Nutrition program examines how food choices impact cellular and organ functions, while investigating diet's effects on physical, mental, and social wellbeing. The curriculum combines evidence-based nutrition science with integrated instruction in basic sciences, clinical applications, and public health strategies. Students engage in rigorous, research-driven learning with four specialization options: Public Health Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Obesity & Weight Management, and Sports & Exercise Nutrition. The University of Glasgow boasts a distinguished nutrition legacy, from early innovators like Cathcart and Paton to contemporary researchers continuing groundbreaking work. International faculty and visiting experts deliver flexible, tailored instruction while cultivating valuable competencies like critical analysis - skills highly prized in today's competitive employment landscape. The Public Health Nutrition component equips learners to: systematically gather and assess nutritional evidence; perform comprehensive needs assessments; and design, execute, and appraise nutrition interventions. Students gain practical experience through team-based project work.
