Cardiovascular disease is expected to continue as the primary cause of mortality worldwide for the next twenty years, contributing significantly to disability and diminished quality of life. This program focuses on providing education in cardiovascular science and biology, highlighting epidemiology, genetics, pathological processes, molecular mechanisms, and pharmaceutical treatments for heart-related conditions.
The University of Glasgow is globally recognized for its excellence in cardiovascular research and academic programs. Gain comprehensive knowledge of the cardiovascular system, disease epidemiology, and the cellular and molecular pathways involved in cardiovascular disorders. The program is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, partially fulfilling the requirements for Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol) status. Students will learn cutting-edge research methodologies in clinical cardiovascular medicine, such as: Gene therapy Genomic, genetic, and proteomic analysis Advanced imaging technologies Risk assessment techniques Conduct a specialized research project under the guidance of an experienced cardiovascular scientist, customized to align with individual interests and skills. Qualification Requirements

The programme is open to medical, pharmacy and bioscience graduates. You should have a 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent in a related subject area.
Relevant subjects include but are not limited to anatomy, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, cell biology, genetics, human biology, immunology, medicine, molecular biology, pathology, pharmacology, pharmacy and sports science).
In exceptional circumstances, other science graduates or bioscience graduates with an Ordinary degree may be eligible, on demonstration of appropriate postgraduate professional experience. 2:2 applicants with a strong subject specific expertise may also be considered.
Whilst not essential, demonstration of appropriate postgraduate experience or relevant employment may enhance your application.
